Tasting notes:

Located a mere 12km from the Pacific Ocean in the Leyda Valley, Viña Leydaspecialises in cool-climate wines. This Sauvignon Blanc comes from theMaitén vineyard and is named after the garuma, a small seagull seenscurrying across the beach all year round. Pale lemon-green in hue, the wineshows grass, gooseberry, green apple and elderflower, with an overlay ofsubtle, creamy oak. Dry, the palate has crisp acidity, a light body and goodintegration. Citrus peel and delicate spices add interest. A good pairingwould be Chinese-style steamed red snapper with ginger and spring onions.(Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
