Tasting notes:
From roots in the Ticino region ofSwitzerland the Valsangiacomofamily established itself in theValencia region of Spain in the mid-19th century to source grapes for its Swisswinery. And everything for theValsangiacomo family has grown fromthere. Today, with vineyards throughoutthe central-eastern part of Spain, theyproduce a wide range of wines in theirwinery near Valencia. This wine, aged forfive months in American oak, is fabulous.Mid-gold in hue with bright orangehighlights, the wine displays very ripegrape, yellow peach and mirabelle fruitswith orange and lemon zest accents andgentle vanilla aromatic spices. Medium insweetness, the palate is midweight, balanced by good freshness and wellintegratedalcohol. A fascinating wine, perhaps best on its own, but wouldcomplement carpaccio of daurade.(Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
