Tasting notes:
Founded in 1960 in the ‘lieu-dit’ Crès Ricards in the commune de Ceyras 32 km from the sea, the estate’s vineyards are at the foot of Mount Baudile, not far from the Roche des Vierges, on the plateaus of Larzac and the Massif Central. The soil is red deposits with dark red galets strewn about. This wine has a deep purple ruby colour and intense cassis and morello cherry fruit accented by tobacco and coffee with a nuance of garrigue. The palate is generous and sweet-fruited, balanced by racy acidity and grainy tannins. Well-structured with good definition and length, this wine will match filet mignon with a red wine-shallot sauce. One to bring on board when embarking on a Mediterranean cruise.
