Taylor’s produces a fine range of tawny Ports. Matured in classic Port pipes formany years, this delightful example has an average age of at least 10 years.Fairly deep tawny-hued, the aromatics show red cherries, cranberries and redplums, with cedarwood and a crushed rose petal lift. Sweet, the midweightpalate is very peppery and spicy (cinnamon, cardamom and hints of chillipeppers), with the flavours balanced by racy acidity and dense, svelte-texturedtannins. With good complexity and length, this Port is a good match formascarpone tartlets with crushed raspberries. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
