Tasting notes:

Established in 1850, Henriques & Henriques owns some very old vineyards,including Verdelho, a contributor to this superb example. The wine has adeepish-tawny colour with rose highlights and plenty of cherry and Williampear fruit, accented by roasted coffee, toffee, smoke and braised meat notes.Medium-dry, the palate shows good intensity of dried fruit flavours, supportedby bracing acidity and hints of toasty wood tannin and cigar box. A lifted,mouthwatering and savoury finish suggests that this is a wine to pair with seascallops seared with mixed pink, white and green peppercorns, served withcauliflower purée and golden raisins.
