Tasting notes:

With 170 growers cultivating about 700ha of vineyards, this Cantina Sociale has been producing wines since 1972. This wine has great concentration and balance. Deep ruby-purple in hue, it displays brambles and black cherry fruit with dark chocolate and undertones of balsamic and earth. Medium-weight, the palate has tangy acidity and linen tannins, with spiced plums and strawberry and raspberry coulis giving added interest. An excellent wine to match with seared calves liver with onions and chestnut mushrooms, or succulent, seared rump steak. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
