Tasting notes:
Established in 1890, Château Tanunda has some of the oldest vines in the Barossa. This ‘centenarian wine’ is from dry farmed, bush-trained vines planted pre 1917. Deep purple in hue, it displays summer pudding fruits and well integrated, subtle, creamy, toasty oak with accents of apricot and orange blossom. The silky-textured palate is midweight, with brisk acidity and layers of flavours. Hints of kitchen spices suggest this is a wine for roast pork loin stuffed with chestnut mushrooms and onions, with a red wine reduction. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
