The ultimate statement rosé, Closdu Temple is striking for its highprice, distinctive packaging and powerfulflavours. It’s the latter that gained it thetitle of Global Rosé Master in this year’scompetition and, if one looks at thescores, the highest average of the tasting –making it our best pink wine of 2024. So,what do we love about this rosé? It’s amore-ish mix of grilled nuts, charredbread, creamy vanilla and then acombination of peach and lemon, wildstrawberry and pineapple, redcurrant andwhite pepper. And it’s not just full inflavour, but texture too, with a lovely,soft, oily mid-palate mouthfeel, but afresh finish, with a hint of bittergrapefruit to make you salivate.(Patrick Schmitt MW)
