Tasting notes:

Three hundred years ago, the Libournais merchant Catherine Conseillanacquired the property and gave it the feminine version of her name,‘Conseillante’. She extended the vineyard parcels to 12ha, and they remain thesame today. In 1871, the Nicolas family purchased the estate, and today thefifth generation manages the domaine. This wine, deep ruby-purple in colour,shows an inviting, complex nose of ripe forest fruits, bilberry and plums, as well as hintsof nuts and dried dates, accented by tobacco and cream. The concentrated palateflavours are framed by brisk acidity and silky tannins, with notes of charcoal and claylikeminerality. A seemingly youthful wine with beautiful texture, balance and length.Delicious to accompany devilled lamb kidneys and chestnut mushrooms. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
