This fine and long-standing ‘Blue Lady’ Cabernet from the much-respectedWarwick winery in South Africa’s Western Cape took home a Gold medal inthis year’s Masters, despite so much fine competition from around the world.Impressing the judges was its blend of stewed red and dark berry flavours,complemented by notes of charred wood and roasted coffee, and its mix offine, dry tannins, warming alcohol, fleshy fruit and then refreshing acidity on the finish.(Patrick Schmitt MW)
