The modern winery at La Finca de Apalta was designed using Feng Shuiprinciples and provides a mystical winery tour. This fantastic wineseems to embody those principles for harmony too. Deep ruby-hued, thewine has morello cherry, blackberry and raspberry fruit, with accents ofsmoke, tobacco and milk chocolate, and a gentle balsamic lift. The fullbodiedpalate is intensely flavourful, balanced by brisk acidity andgrainy tannins. Meaty on the finish, this is a wine to match pork belly,roasted with onions, then served with herb- and garlic-infused haricotbeans. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
