Tasting notes:

Moët & Chandon’s first edition – called Création No. 1 – of its new prestige cuvée Collection Impériale is delicious. Based on the fresh 2013 harvest, but with seven different vintages in the blend – the oldest being from 2000 – this is a crisp, complete and complex Champagne that is magnificent now, but could be cellared like other great multi-vintage cuvées. If you do pop the cork, expect a wonderful mix of zesty lemon and ripe pineapple, along with vanilla pod and roasted coffee, and a texture that is creamy at its core, but chalky and bonedry on the finish – this is Moët’s first zerodosage fizz.
