Tasting notes:
‘Asolo, my Asolo’, wrote Robert Browning, whose final group of poems, Asolando, was mostly written while living in Asolo in 1889. Surely he would have adored this wine. This stylish Prosecco shows vibrant apple tart and white peach with a hint of hedgerow blossom. On the palate, the wine is brut-style (14g/l residual sugar), with lively acidity and a light body. Brittle mousse texture gives a little extra grip and there is good concentration, with interest from yeast nuance on the long finish. Delicious as an aperitif, it would also work nicely with simply-prepared lemon sole and steamed courgettes. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
