De Bortoli is a master of fine, pretty and good-value Pinot from Australia, butthis relatively inexpensive example really wowed for delivering so much ripered berry character for the money. Quite lightweight in mouthfeel it may be, butthere’s plenty of flavour, from sweet tomato to fleshy red cherry, blood orangeand wild strawberry, followed by a touch of dried mint and creamy vanilla too.The finish has some fine, dry tannins to refresh, and the fruit flavours reallylinger.
