Tasting notes:
In the world of wine, this is certainly a high-priced bottle, but by Burgundianstandards, this fine drop is still relatively good value. And that’s because it’sso delicious. Framed by typically Pommardian, firm, grainy tannins is alovely mix of fleshy red fruit, and first-rate barrel-sourced flavours, from darkchocolate to toast. In addition, there are notes of white pepper, ripe stems, sweet orange and juicy tangerine, with a hint of rhubarb too. In short, this is acomplex, refreshing Pinot with depth, balance and a firm structure. It can beenjoyed now, but certainly kept for a decade or more. (Patrick Schmitt MW)
