Lanson’s appearance in thesetastings always seems – whicheverwines they enter – to be rewardedwith a high medal, and certainlydeservedly so in this example. A verycomplex nose of white peaches, melons,cherries, rhubarb and a touch of jasmine,with attractive autolytic notes of briocheand biscuit. In the mouth there is freshacidity, chalky minerality and a deftmarriage of the mid-palate fruit freshnessand lees structure. Definitely one for foodas well as celebration.
