Tasting notes:

A consistent top performer in our Global Wine Masters, Trefethen picked up a high score again in this year’s Cabernet competition for its fine, balanced and fully ripe wine from Napa’s Oak Knoll District. Rich in blackcurrant, cherry and raspberry, complemented by a touch of bay leaf, cracked pepper and then lovely flavours imparted from fine French oak, like creamy chocolate and smoky toast. There’s a lift to this wine that ensures it refreshes, with some dry tannin and a medium-weight feel, as well as a cool redcurrant edge too.(Patrick Schmitt MW)
