Andreola’s Col del Forno vineyard is a natural amphitheatre of about four hectareslocated at the eastern end of the Rive di Refrontolo in the Mire hamlet ofValdobbiadene. Recently the family has dedicated a small parcel of the land toolive trees for the production of olive oil. A very pretty ‘flagship’ wine, palelemon-green in colour, it exhibits green fruits, apple and pear with white floweroverlay and delicate yeast. Extra-brut in style (7g/l residual sugar), the wine hasvery fresh acidity, a light body and a linen-textured mousse. Quite vinous, thisexample will taste well with poached salmon and watercress cream.(Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
