Tasting notes:
If you’ve never tried barrel-agedrosé, then you should give LesClans a go. At first surprising, thearomatics are reminiscent of whiteBurgundy, or perhaps a fineBordeaux blanc, with notes of ripe citrusmixed with toasted marshmallow. Theseare far removed from the typical scents ofpink wine, let alone the delicatecharacters of Provençal rosé. But then, when you drink it, you see how highqualityoak and great Grenache-basedpink wines can be a wonderful marriage. Not only do the white cherry and peachyflavours nicely complement the vanillapod and white chocolate notes, but there’salso a lovely textural union, as fruit, oakand acidity combine to producesomething fleshy, creamy and zesty.(Patrick Schmitt MW)
