Established in 1916, Champagne Castelnau prides itself on the ‘Art ofDelicacy’ in its wines. Fashioned by Carine Bailleul, herself delicate butstrong-minded, the wines exude elegance. This expression from thewell-regarded 2006 vintage shows a mid-gold colour and smallbubbles. The aromas and flavours of yellow plum, apple, pear and redberries are accented by grilled toast notes from long ageing. Brut style(7 g/l), the palate is mid-weight and concentrated, framed by veryfresh acidity and velvet mousse texture, layered and long.
