According to the official records, the Pizzolato family has been established in Villorba since at least 1719. An organic producer, the family has a committed aim for sustainability in the vineyard, winery and beyond. Hence, this wine, ‘M-Use’, is packaged in an attractive ‘multi-use’ bottle, moulded with bubbles and shapes in the lightweight glass. The wine inside is anything but lightweight, showing excellent concentration of green apple and pear fruit with white flower and gentle yeast nuances. Ultra-brut in style (7.5g/l residual sugar), the palate has racy acidity and a silky-textured mousse, leading to a long finish. Beautifully balanced, the wine will pair nicely with gentle wild garlic and watercress risotto to bring out the subtle fruit.(Jonathan Pedley MW)
