Tasting notes:

A revelation of the heights to which Cabernet Franc can soar in Chile’sColchagua region, this wine, like its partner, Maquis Viola, is sold on La Place deBordeaux through four different négociants. Quite deep ruby in colour, the wineshows aromatic dark fruits, morello cherry and black raspberry, smoky oak anda mint overlay. Full-bodied, the palate has youthful vibrant fruit and integratedoak, supported by zippy acidity and linen-textured tannins, with intriguing, crushedrose petal and gentle herb notes on the long finish. A really attractive wine, justbeginning to drink well, and would be a good match for duck with morello cherry sauce.(Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
