Hooseeg is the fulfilment of Philip Shaw’s dream. Having transferred his Philip Shaw label to his sons in 2015, Philip established this new ‘vision’. The ‘Hoo’ is Shaw and the ‘Egg’ symbolises this new beginning – a catchy name. This Cabernet Franc is sensational and unforgettable. The wine has a deep purple-black colour, raspberry and morello cherry fruit with cedar wood and smoke accents. The palate is quite weighty, but elegant, showing racy acidity and abundant, satin-textured tannins framing the concentrated, layered flavours. A textural wine with a lingering finish, it will match beef Wellington or filet mignon.(Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
