Origins Reclaimed: Europe’s New Terroirs & Indigenous Voices

Join us for an exclusive masterclass, Origins Reclaimed: Europe’s New Terroirs & Indigenous Voices, led by Neil McAndrew in Cardiff on 23rd March. As part of the ‘More Than Only Food & Drink’ campaign, this event will take you on a fascinating journey through Europe’s emerging wine regions, showcasing new terroirs and the authentic stories of indigenous grape varieties. This isn’t just about discovering new regions—it’s about celebrating authenticity, quality, sustainability, and the revival of forgotten grapes. These elements are driving premiumisation and opening exciting new opportunities for growth in the UK market.

What to Expect:

  • Guided Wine Tastings: Savour eight distinctive wines, each representing a unique new terroir and indigenous grape, with detailed insights into their origins, characteristics, and the traditions behind them.
  • Interactive Q&A: Deepen your understanding with an optional question and answer session with Neil.
  • Networking & Exploration: Network with fellow wine enthusiasts while discovering six additional EU wines, each presented with an informative card for a self-guided tasting experience.

The campaign highlights the safety, quality, authenticity, and sustainability of EU products. It also raises awareness of EU food quality labels such as Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), Protected Geographical Indication (PGI), and EU Organic, reflecting the rigorous standards and sustainable practices that protect food quality, animal welfare, and the environment.
