To discover the diversity and quality of the world’s largest fine wine region imparting the basic knowledge enabling participants to taste, describe and appreciate wines.

• The origins of viticulture and winemaking
• The basic economic background of Bordeaux wine
• The language and technique of tasting

Session 2:

• Viticulture and vine growing
• Grape varieties, the AOC appellation system
• Saint-Emilion – Pomerol – Fronsac

Session 3:

• The art of making red wines
• Ageing red wines
• Bottling and labeling and applicable legislation
• Medoc and Graves

Session 4:

• Dry white wines
• Semi-sweet and sweet white wines
