From Agrelo to Chubút: An exploration of Argentinian Malbecs & Terroirs

Join Bodega Argento’s head winemaker Juan Pablo Murgia and db’s Patrick Schmitt MW for a comprehensive tasting of Malbec from some of the most exciting sub-regions of Argentina.

This live tasting will explore different expressions of Malbecs from Mendoza’s sub-regions of Alto Agrelo, Altamira and Gualtallary and look at recent developments in Patagonia, with a specific focus on organic & sustainable production, soil & vineyard management, and how to tackle challenges posed by climate change.

Discussions on the impact of terroir and soil will be illustrated by a tasting of Malbecs from Bodega Argento’s top vineyard sites in Mendoza as well as a Malbec made by Juan Pablo Murgia at Bodega Otronia in Chubút, Patagonia. Both wineries are part of leading Argentinian wine group, Grupo Avinea.

The line-up will include Bodega Argento’s Single Vineyard and Single Block Organic Malbecs and introduce new premium releases such as Argento Estate Reserve and Argento Estate Collection Organic Malbecs. It will also be the first opportunity to taste the white organic Fairtrade Malbec in the Artesano de Argento range.
