Jaws-themed wines hit the shelves to mark film’s 50th anniversary
To celebrate five decades since Spielberg’s shark thriller first terrified audiences, a California winery has launched a trio of limited-edition wines with plenty of bite.

Napa Valley-based wine producer Fior di Sole has unveiled a limited-edition collection of Jaws-themed wines to mark the 50th anniversary of the iconic 1975 film directed by Steven Spielberg. The release includes Amity Island Red, Amity Island White, and a Tropical Blue Wine Spritzer, each styled to evoke the seaside setting and enduring suspense of the classic thriller.
The range is set to launch in summer 2025 and is designed as a collectible for wine lovers, movie buffs and shark fans alike.
Marketing director Tim Peters, the man behind the concept, said: “The idea for Jaws-themed wines came from a desire to celebrate the legacy of a film that has captivated audiences for decades. We worked closely with Universal Products & Experiences to ensure that this wine line captures the spirit of Jaws. It’s a blend of nostalgia, fun, and exceptional winemaking.”
Bottling nostalgia – with teeth
The wines come with a tongue-in-cheek warning – “You’re gonna need a bigger glass” – and aim to pair playfulness with premium winemaking. While the exact blends remain under wraps for now, the branding leans heavily into the film’s beachy, blood-in-the-water vibes, with each bottle offering fans a sip of pop culture history.

Partners Stefano Migotto and Valentina Guolo say the release channels the drama and charm of Spielberg’s original. “This is not just wine; it’s a piece of film history in a bottle,” said Guolo. “We’re thrilled to offer fans something so unique to celebrate this milestone anniversary.”
Migotto added: “The film’s suspense, its seaside charm, and its cultural impact inspired every detail of these wines.”
A social splash
The company teased the launch on Instagram at the end of January, and early signs suggest a feeding frenzy. The teaser post was met with a flood of enthusiastic comments from fans eager to secure the commemorative bottles.
All three wines will be available to purchase in summer 2025. Those keen to follow the countdown can head to @fiordisolewines on Instagram for updates and sneak peeks.
