Vineyard in Dorset’s Piddle Valley on market for £1.2m
A vineyard planted with Champagne grapes in Dorset’s picturesque Piddle Valley has gone on sale for more than £1.2 million.
The property, called Muston Vineyard, comprises 12 hectares of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier as part of an 18ha estate, which is described as having the potential for oenotourism.
The grapes were planted six years ago, with a small harvest picked in 2020 and 2021 for producing English sparkling wine.
Alongside the vineyard is an area of pasture, next to which is a small piece of mature woodland.

With planning permission granted in August 2020 for a 10,000 sq ft agricultural building, and the planting’s setting near “tourist hotspots” such as the West Dorset Heritage Coastline, Muston Vineyard is said to “lend itself to a wine tourism venture”, according to Savills, which is marketing the property.
The estate is one mile from the Dorset village of Piddlehinton, which is home to The Thimble Inn, a thatched pub with fine food.
