Amorim to host cork and wine fault seminar

Natural cork producer Amorim is set to host a seminar on corks and wine faults for members of the wine trade in London, presented by Dr Paulo Lopes, key R&D scientist at Amorim.

Dr Lopes will be in London to give a special presentation to members of the wine industry on Tuesday 27 November at 67 Pall Mall from 2pm to 4pm.

He will focus not only on the investments made by the cork industry, but also on what happens to wine when it is bottled under cork, and how and why closures can affect the wine inside.

The seminar will also feature Amorim’s whole range of cork stoppers and will discuss how they are produced and the quality controls that take place. Dr Lopes will conclude by discussing wine faults in depth, exploring what they are, how to spot them and how they are caused.

Amorim has stated that there will be “hands on ‘nosing’ and experimenting” to help attendees learn about and identify common wine faults.

Entry is free, but space is limited. To book your place contact Fiona Campbell on 01225 782095 or email fionaccampbell@btopenworld.com
