The Melbourne-based photographer’s winning shot was announced in London last night (24 April) at the Pink Lady Photographer of the Year 2018 awards, of which the Errazuriz Wine Photographer of the Year is a category.
His photograph of Chardonnay spinning into a tank, “stood out from the rest in its category for the way in which he made the subject matter so fascinating and original.”
It is the second time Pugatschew has won the prize, an impressive achievement considering each shot is considered without the judges knowing the photographer’s name.
He was presented with his award by Sophie Wren, the UK brand manager for Viña Errazuriz.
For the awards as a whole, around 8,000 photographs were entered by photographers from 60 countries.
