Vinexpo New York unveils masterclass lineup

Vinexpo New York has revealed the lineup of masterclasses that will be held at its upcoming exhibition in March, with some of the biggest names in the business signing up to host sessions on a variety of topics.

Vinexpo New York will be held on 5-6 March 2018

Vinexpo New York will hold 10 master classes over the 5th and 6th of March, with Wine Australia set to present two sessions.

The first, titled “Barossa: Rare and Distinguished”, will feature some of Australia’s most legendary wines showcasing the region’s 170-year history, and the second “Coast to Coast: Cabernet Sauvignon Terroirs of Australia”, which will include wines from the West and East Coasts of Australia with a focus on terroir.

Côtes du Rhône Crus will host a masterclass called “A Deep Dive Into the Grenache Variety of the Southern Rhône Crus”, and a second titled “Three Adjacent AOC From the Northern Rhône (Saint-Péray, Cornas and Saint-Joseph): Different Expressions From the Same Granite Soil”.

Other masterclasses will include “New Faces From Austria”, hosted by the Austrian Wine Marketing Board, and “The Well-Tempered Crescendo of Champagnes by Fine Winegrowers” by Champagne de Vigneron.

Decanter will also be at the show, hosting a session entitled “The Best Pinot Noirs in the World (Outside of Burgundy and California)”, while the Institute of Masters of Wine will host a session on “Old and New York Reds: Myth vs. Fact”.

In October Vinexpo confirmed it had nearly doubled the original footprint of the show’s exhibition space to accommodate “unprecedented demand”, with exhibition space now completely sold out.

“The U.S. is now the world’s top consumer of wine. With the consolidation of distribution in the US, many brands are not getting enough attention from the bigger players,” said Guillaume Deglise, CEO of Vinexpo. “Vinexpo New York offers valuable opportunities for smaller distributors who are looking for new brands, particularly as U.S. consumers look to discover new products. The exhibition further benefits from Diversified’s approach to niche market events and its ability to attract the right exhibitor base.”

Open exclusively to the trade, the event, organised in partnership with Diversified Communications, will feature more than 450 exhibitors from 23 countries.

A full schedule of schedule and details of masterclasses can be found here, while guests can register their attendance to the show here.

The event will be held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York on 5-6 March 2018.
