The Benevolent charity silent auction goes live this week

UK drinks trade charity The Benevolent’s “Thanks for Giving” online silent auction will return this week, with lots including a two-week stay in a large luxury villa in Florida, a Nebuchadnezzar of Jacquart Champagne and a luxury cocktail experience at The Savoy.

This year’s event will take place on Thanksgiving Day, 23rd November 2017, with the aim of raising over £30k for colleagues of the UK drinks industry that are in need.

The online silent auction will be live for one week when anyone in the trade, their friends and family members to bid for 60 lots that will span from corporate hospitality, cultural experiences, luxury bottles, and “whacky auction of promises”.

Lots include the chance to be a brewer for a day with Britain’s oldest brewer, Shepherd Neame in Kent, two tickets to the English National Opera and the opportunity to be chauffeur driven of an evening by Chris Porter, soon-to-be CEO of The Benevolent.

Prestigious lots include a two-week stay in a large luxury villa in Florida, a private VIP tour around the Aston Martin plant and Prodrive Racing Team, two VIP hospitality tickets at a Test match or ODI at Lord’s Cricket Ground, and two VIP entrance tickets to the Royal Pavilion for the Cartier Queen’s Cup at the Guards Polo Club.

“We were thrilled with the success of this initiative last year, driven by the fact that our drinks trade does truly have access to many prestigious experiential lifestyle events and super-premium products and these form wonderful online auction lots that ‘money can’t buy’,” said David Cox, The Benevolent Chief Executive.

“I urge everyone in the trade to look deep into their physical sample cupboards together with their marketing and event collaborations to see what can be kindly donated to us. There is still time and it’s all for a brilliant cause.”

The Benevolent is still accepting last minute donations to be included in the lots, therefore it is inviting companies and individual supporters to contact the team and discuss what can be donated to the initiative.
