You can now have breakfast at Tiffany’s
In news that will delight Audrey Hepburn and Truman Capote fans in equal measure, it is now possible to have breakfast at Tiffany’s as the luxury jewellery store has opened a café on Fifth Avenue in New York.
As reported by Food & Wine, the Blue Box Café opens today at Tiffany & Co.’s flagship store on Fifth Avenue.
Everything from the chairs and plates to the salt and pepper mills are in Tiffany’s signature blue – a colour so deeply associated with the brand they practically own it.
The grey marble walls are also flecked with aquamarine.
Among the dishes on the menu are avocado on toast, truffled eggs and smoked salmon bagels, alongside cakes to go in the shape of the iconic Tiffany jewellery box with its white bow.
Dotted around the room are creations by artist Reed Krakoff, Tiffany’s chief artistic officer, from a silver tin can and a roll of silver yarn, and ‘paper’ cup made from bone china.

The company has also cleverly included jewelley displays within the café to entice diners into buying diamonds with their morning coffee.
In the opening scene of the 1961 film Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Holly Golightly, played by Audrey Hepburn, elegantly eats a croissant while wearing a black evening dress, pearls and long black gloves in front of a Tiffany’s window display.
The film is based on a novella by Truman Capote published in 1958.
