The Benevolent to bring back charity silent auction

UK drinks trade charity The Benevolent is bringing back its “Thanks for Giving” Online Silent Auction, which last year raised £37,000 for members of the industry facing hardship.

This year’s event will take place on Thanksgiving Day, 23rd November 2017, with the aim of raising over £30k for colleagues of the UK drinks industry that are in need.

The online silent auction will be live for one week when  anyone in the trade, their friends and family members to bid for up to 100 lots that will span from corporate hospitality, cultural experiences, luxury bottles, and “whacky auction of promises”.

Prestigious lots include a two-week stay in a large luxury villa in Florida, a private VIP tour around the Aston Martin plant and Prodrive Racing Team, two VIP hospitality tickets at a Test match or ODI at Lord’s Cricket Ground, and two VIP entrance tickets to the Royal Pavilion for the Cartier Queen’s Cup at the Guards Polo Club.

The charity is actively encouraging any drinks companies to promote the initiative to their private clients, suppliers and relevant contacts allowing them to take part in the auction, with the charity also still accepting donation from companies and individual supporters.

“We were thrilled with the success of this initiative last year, driven by the fact that our drinks trade does truly have access to many prestigious experiential lifestyle events and super-premium products and these form wonderful online auction lots that ‘money can’t buy’,” said David Cox, The Benevolent Chief Executive.

“I urge everyone in the trade to look deep into their physical sample cupboards together with their marketing and event collaborations to see what can be kindly donated to us. It’s all for a brilliant cause.”
