Fake Budweiser and Corona destroyed
Nearly 1,000 cases of counterfeit Budweiser and Corona beer manufactured in China have been destroyed by local authorities in Cambodia, following a complaint from the two brands’ sole distributor in the southeastern Asian country.

The country’s Interior Ministry’s Anti-Economic Crime Department said 915 boxes of beer were destroyed at a dumpsite in Dangkoa district, which included 200 boxes Corona, reported Khmer Times.
The local importer Attwood Import Export Company, has exclusive rights to import and distribute Budweiser and Corona beers in Cambodia.
“Those beers violated copyrights,” Long Sreng, deputy chief of the department, told Khmer Times. “The beer we destroyed was imported from an unspecific manufacturer in China.”
In May, a fake Budweiser factory was busted in China’s southern Guangdong province after a video showing its unsanitary production went viral on Chinese social media.
The underground factory was said to be making 600,000 crates of beer every month before the bust.
