Santa Rita to be exclusive international wine at Confederations Cup
Santa Rita has been chosen as the exclusive international wine at the Confederations Cup taking place from 17 June to 2 July.
Santa Rita’s 120 range and Reserva wines will be showcased in the hospitality sections and VIP lounges in the stadiums at the global football event. The Confederations Cup will also be serving local Russian wines, however, Santa Rita will be the only international wine available.
Santa Rita already has footballing connections as it is the official partner of Arsenal Football Club.
Jaime de la Barra, corporate marketing manager at Viña Santa Rita, said: “This is an excellent opportunity for Chilean wine and for Santa Rita as a company, to expand the reach of our brand and our wines in such an international market as Russia. Russia has tremendous growth potential, and Santa Rita has been present here for more than three decades”.
Chile is the leader exporter of New World wine to Russia and is fifth in the world ranking after Italy, France, Spain and Georgia. In 2016, exports of Chilean bottled wine to Russia totaled US $23 million, with 1.1m cases sold, according to figures from the Wines of Chile.
