MIKO Mei Fair to launch in Mayfair this April

A new Thai dining venture from restaurateur Samyukta Nair will launch in Mayfair this April, as MIKO Mei Fair brings fire-led cooking and bold regional flavours to central London.

MIKO Mei Fair Mayfair open

Last year, the drinks business looked into London’s fast-developing Thai restaurant scene, finding British diners developing a taste for its diversity of flavour outside the much-loved Pad Thai and colourful curries.

And MIKO Mei Fair is about to become the latest newcomer to the circuit. Restauranter Samyukta Nair’s newest venture will open in April 2026 on the ground floor of the MiMi Mei Fair townhouse in Mayfair. Nair, whose portfolio includes Jamavar, Bombay Bustle, MiMi Mei Fair and Nipotina, said the new concept will combine the creative style of MiMi Mei Fair with the culinary influence of KOYN Thai.

The kitchen, spearheaded by KOYN Thai head chef Soonthorn Apaipat, will spotlight traditional Thai principles of balance, combining contrasting elements such as heat and freshness, and lightness and richness. Dishes will draw inspiration from across the country, including the bold flavours of the north-east, coconut-based southern cooking and the lighter dishes of central Thailand.

Fire-based cooking will play a central role, with a robata-style grill used to prepare a number of the dishes.

Menu highlights include Netted Spring Rolls with tofu and spring onion, Toasted Rice Beef Tenderloin, Lobster Choo Chee and an Apple Wood Fire Peking Duck Penang Curry. Popular dishes from KOYN Thai, such as Chiang Mai Sausage, Pad See Ew, Lamb Massaman Curry and Yellow Crab Curry, will also feature.

When it comes to drinks , the focus is on tropical fruits, citrus and Thai-inspired flavours. Signature cocktails include Sabai Sabai, made with Mekong rum, kaffir lime and Thai basil, as well as a Thai Pink Spritz, Golden Mango Margarita and Hibiscus Negroni. Non-alcoholic options will also be available.

“MIKO Mei Fair represents a natural evolution, bringing together warm, intimate dining with the focus and discipline of fire led cooking,” said Nair, who is also creative director and CEO of LSL Capital.

“It is a celebration of Thailand’s energy and generosity, expressed through layered interiors, vibrant ingredient led dishes and heartfelt hospitality,” she continued. “At its core is Thai cuisine prepared with precision and soul, grounded in craft and designed to be shared.”

The restaurant will seat up to 50 guests and include a private dining room for eight. It has been designed as an intimate space for shared dining and social occasions.

The interior will retain the Georgian building’s structure while incorporating colourful design elements inspired by Thailand, including teal panelling, red leather seating, brass accents and tropical wall coverings. A private dining space, known as the Peacock Room, will feature hand-painted chinoiserie wallpaper and will be shared with MiMi Mei Fair.

Nair said that while MIKO Mei Fair and MiMi Mei Fair share the same townhouse and devotion to detail, they each have their own identity and spirit.

“We look forward to welcoming guests to experience Thailand from the heart of Mayfair, in a setting that feels both alive and deeply personal,” she added.
