LBW Drinks, the producer of premium English wines, meads, country and fruit wines, liqueurs and spirits under the Lyme Bay Winery brand, has announced the appointment of Wolfgang Sieg-Hogg as MD.

Wolfgang joined Lyme Bay Winery in October 2018 as operations manager and was appointed operations director and a member of the board in January 2024. He brings nearly two decades of experience in food manufacturing and distribution, having previously managed production sites for leading British brands including Dorset Cereals and Rowse Honey, as well as spending two years leading a large independent health food wholesaler.

In his new role, Wolfgang will have responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of operations, sales and marketing and administration, guiding the business through its next phase of growth.

“It is a privilege to lead Lyme Bay Winery and continue the work that James Lambert has built over the past 18 years”, said Wolfgang Sieg-Hogg. “I’ve had the opportunity to work with an incredible team that is deeply committed to quality and craftsmanship. We are proud to delight our loyal customers and also create innovative new drinks that appeal to different generations, all while using our resources responsibly to protect the future.”

Lyme Bay Winery has also found success with its mead as Majestic Wine added Lyme Bay Winery’s traditional mead to its online and in-store retailers. As reported by the drinks business in September 2025, the Lyme Bay Winery had one of the best drink launches of September with its introduction of ‘Covepoint’ in both a Pinot Noir and a Chardonnay. With English wine sales climbing 3% as of July 2025, Lyme Bay Winery has the opportunity to expand its market.

K. M. Ball, chairman of LBW Drinks, added: “Wolfgang has demonstrated strong leadership, deep industry knowledge and a clear commitment to our people and products. The Board is confident that under his direction, the business will continue to thrive, with a focus on quality, innovation and sustainable growth.”
