Wetherspoons sells 99p pints during January
Budget pub chain JD Wetherspoon has revealed it is selling 99p pints of beer as part of its January sale.

The pints of Worthington’s beer selling for less than £1 each will also, according to reports in the national press, be accompanied by other offers. Other deals on drinks during the January sale will include items such as 250ml glasses of Coldwater Creek wine (chardonnay, pinot grigio, rosé and merlot) for £2.99 as well as measures of Johnnie Walker Black Label Whisky and Tanqueray Gin for as little as just £1.99.
The January sale will be taking place in more than 600 Wetherspoons pub venues across the UK, however, according to reports, in 200 other branches the prices “may vary” a little.
For those not drinking, various alcohol-free beers such as Guinness 0.0, Corona Cero and Stella Artois Gluten Free will be available along with zero-alcohol cider brands Thatchers Zero, Kopparberg Alcohol Free all at £1.69 each.
Pub customers can also make savings on food, with an 11″ pizza and a chicken burger with chips or a salad costing just £4.99 (with soft drink) and £6.52 (with an alcoholic drink).

Speaking about the initiative, Wetherspoon’s founder and chairman, Tim Martin, said: “Department stores and shops hold their sales in January, so it is the perfect time to also have a sale in the pubs.”
Martin explained: “The range of food and drinks on sale in the pub is aimed at suiting a wide variety of tastes” and highlighted how Wetherspoons has “included a large selection of low-alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks”.
Martin added: “As always, staff at the pub will serve customers responsibly.”
The Wetherspoons January sale, including all its offers, will run until 15 January.
