Top 10 unique bars in London 2026

As the dust settles on the Christmas season and you look for a fun night out, keep these bars in mind for a unique experience in London.

1. The Vault Bar at The Ned

As the dust settles on the Christmas season and you look for a fun night out, keep these bars in mind for a unique experience in London.

Located at the heart of London, just minutes away from Bank Station, is The Ned. Originally standing as a bank, later renovated into a hotel and members’ club, The Ned’s stayed true to most of its original architecture, which can be seen in its renovation of the old bank vault into a bar. Only accessible through a membership, visitors can enter through the main doors of the Ned, head downstairs and soon find themselves surrounded by the vault’s original safety deposit boxes as they sip their drinks.

2. Control Room B at Battersea Power Station

For those looking to combine their love of history and cocktails, look no further than Control Room B at Battersea Power Station. Recently renovated into a shopping centre, the original control room of the station remains mostly the same. Renovated into a bar where the cocktails take inspiration from the bar’s history (see cocktail named ‘smooth operator’), visitors can sip their drinks sitting next to the original dials of the control room.

3. Ballie Ballerson

For those wanting to let loose and try something different this January, we have Ballie Ballerson, a bar at the centre of London where visitors can have a drink and jump into a ball pit at (reasonably) the same time. Gaining fame in London in recent years, Ballie Ballerson still remains high on our list of unique bars.

4. Cahoots Underground bar, Soho

Set in a disused train carriage in the underground near the bustling streets of Soho, Cahoots is a 1940s-themed bar featuring two platforms: southbound and northbound. Featuring themed cocktails like ‘off the rails’, visitors can enjoy an evening relaxing in the original tube seats of the underground carriage.

5. The Alchemist

No bar is as famously unique as The Alchemist. With its fizzing cocktails and dark, mysterious interior, The Alchemist remains one of the most unique bars in London. From colour-changing cocktails (‘colour changing one’) to those containing sea foam (‘cosmic conch’), The Alchemist is a truly unique experience that has something for everyone.

6. Evans and Peel Detective Agency

For lovers of a good mystery, the Evans and Peel Detective Agency is the perfect place for a unique couple of drinks. Instead of taking bookings, our ‘detectives’ take appointments where visitors can invent a case for the detectives to try and solve. Also, 1940s themed, the bar itself leans heavily on the aesthetic, so you’ll find yourself surrounded by live music and themed cocktails.

7. Trapeze Bar Shoreditch

Advertised as ‘Shoreditch’s Number One Circus Bar’, the Trapeze Bar London takes inspiration from the National Theatre of Circus Arts, complete with decor, entertainers and themed cocktails, this bar is certainly one of the most unique in London.

8. Foggs Botanical Tavern

Mr Foggs Botanical Tavern stands as one part of the larger ‘Mr Foggs’ franchise in London. Marked by its distinctly Victorian theme across its bars and restaurants, Mr Foggs Botanical Tavern stands out in London for its decor. Visitors can enter and find themselves surrounded by all types of plants and flowers, whilst sipping on a themed cocktail.

9. The Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town

Hidden in The Breakfast Club of Spitalfields lies an ordinary-looking fridge; however, if visitors step through, they find themselves in a hidden bar, this is the Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town. By its entrance alone, this is one of the most unique bars in London, but the cocktails and menu make this bar even more special, featuring a house shot called ‘wet whiskers’ and a food item called ‘the mayor’s mezze board’. This London bar is certainly a unique night out.

10. Moonshine Saloon

Just a short walk away from Liverpool Street Station lies the Moonshine Saloon, an immersive wild west bar where visitors can enjoy themed cocktails, interact with ‘locals’ and even get tailored for their own vest and hat. For lovers of the wild west or lovers of interactive theatre, this will certainly be a unique experience.
