Barcelona Wine Week ramps up global push

More exhibitors, more DOs and more meetings will define the 2026 edition as Spanish producers chase new export markets.

Barcelona Wine Week (BWW) will return to Fira de Barcelona’s Montjuïc venue from 2–4 February 2026 with what organisers are calling its most international edition to date, as the show seeks to expand the global reach of Spanish wine.

More than 1,300 wineries are set to exhibit — 4% more than in 2025 — representing 90 Designations of Origin and a broad mix of major brands, family estates and micro-wineries.

Diverse regional line-up

Exhibitors confirmed for halls 1 and 8 include Torres, Vallformosa, Lan, Matarromera, José Pariente, Marqués del Atrio, Raventós Codorníu, Grandes Pagos de España, Araex, Juve & Camps and Freixenet. Grupo Osborne and the DO Rueda will participate for the first time, alongside hundreds of medium and small wineries and more than 300 micro-wineries and emerging projects from across Spain.

Catalonia (320), Castilla y León (260), La Rioja (105) and Castilla-La Mancha (75) will be the regions with the strongest presence. Andalusia (66), Murcia (40) and Asturias (6) show the largest growth in exhibitor numbers versus the previous edition.

The exhibition area will span 10,800 metres squared, an increase of 9% on 2025, and will feature a self-guided tasting zone, a networking space and a speaker’s corner focused on emerging trends.

An ideal platform to present innovations, connect with distributors, strengthen relationships and share a common vision of the future of wine. All in a professional, attractive and dynamic environment,” said Javier Pagés, president of Barcelona Wine Week and of DO Cava.

Hosted buyers drive business focus

The fair will strengthen its hosted buyers programme in collaboration with ICEX Spain Trade and Investment. Organisers expect to welcome more than 880 buyers from strategic markets in Europe, America and Asia, facilitating around 13,500 meetings between wineries and international professionals.

Distributors set to attend include Divin (Canada), Delta Wines (Netherlands), Global Wines & Spirits (Colombia) and Imperial Beverage (USA), alongside supermarkets such as Coto (Argentina), NSLC (Canada) and Huge (Japan).

More than 1,000 national buyers from the large-scale retail, specialist retail and HoReCa channels are also due to participate.

Programme to highlight winemaking families

The 2026 edition will pay tribute to Spanish wine dynasties, featuring producers such as Torres, Vega Sicilia, Gramona, Artadi and José Pariente, who will discuss the legacy of generational winemaking and how succession is shaping new approaches in the vineyard and cellar.

In total, 80 activities and 136 national and international experts will take part in tastings, talks and round tables. Among the headline names is British critic and Financial Times columnist Jancis Robinson, who will lead the tasting ‘Tradition and Innovation: From Past to Present’.

The programme will feature eight Masters of Wine, including Lenka Sedlackova, Almudena Alberca and Jonas Tofterup, as well as winemakers Willy Pérez, Oriol Lliberia and Richard Sanz. A posthumous tribute will be paid to Victoria Ibáñez, vice president of the Catalan Association of Sommeliers, and Ramon Francàs of La Vanguardia will host the tasting ‘12+1 Myths of Jerez’.

Linking the city with the fair

BWW Likes the City will once again bring tastings, pairings, tapas and tasting menus to restaurants, bars and wine shops across Barcelona. Participating venues include Compartir, Via Veneto, Nectari, Casa Alfonso, El Salero and 4 Latas.

The initiative will also take wine into non-gastronomic spaces, including the Reial Cercle Artístic de Barcelona, the Pipa Club and the Fundació Victoria dels Àngels.

Previous edition set benchmarks

The 2025 event brought together 1,266 exhibiting wineries, 81 DOs and almost 25,700 professional visitors, 20% of whom attended from outside Spain. The show is supported by MAPA, the Spanish Wine Federation (FEV), the Spanish Conference of Wine Regulatory Councils (CECRV) and the Spanish Wine Interprofessional Organisation (OIVE), and is backed by Cajamar.
