Motel Mezcal launches across Asia Pacific
Mexico’s Motel Mezcal has launched in seven markets across Asia Pacific, with plans for further expansion to come.

Motel Mezcal, produced in Oaxaca, Mexico, has made its debut in Asia and New Zealand.
Henry Gordon, the brand’s co-founder and CEO, is a New Zealand restaurateur whose aim has been to launch the spirit globally.
“Motel Mezcal is about preserving generations of Oaxacan tradition while presenting it in a way that resonates globally. Across Asia, consumers are increasingly curious, culturally engaged, and eager to explore authentic, premium spirits. We believe Motel Mezcal will connect with this new wave of adventurous drinkers who value both craft and story,” he said of the export expansion.
Motel Mezcal has officially launched in China, Singapore, Hong Kong and Macau via a partnership with importer and distributor Drinks 99.

In New Zealand, wine and spirits distributor EuroVintage will represent the brand.
Spirit Syndicate, a boutique distributor in Malaysia, has partnered with Motel Mezcal in the country.
And the Mexican brand has partnered with Eureka Imports to bring the spirit to the Taiwanese market.
Gordon added: “This is just the beginning — we’re excited to take the spirit of Oaxaca further across Asia Pacific and beyond, sharing our story and our mezcal with the world.”

Motel Mezcal was created by Daniel López, a third-generation mezcalero from Oaxaca. His family has preserved artesanal methods of mezcal production including cultivating agave, roasting underground on volcanic stones, crushing with a horse-drawn tahona, fermenting in open-air wooden vats, and distilling in copper pots.
