Full Pint Beer files for bankruptcy for a second time
Pittsburgh-based Full Pint Beer, owned by US beer company Franklin Lagers and Ales, has filed for bankruptcy for a second time in a bid to save the business from closure.

Full Pint Beer, which was originally founded in 2009 by a group of former employees of John Harvard’s Brewing and led by Danny Fullpint, initially filed for bankruptcy in 2019. The move resulted in the business being saved and was then sold to Franklin Lagers and Ales in 2021. But just four years after the acquisition, it is back filing a Chapter 11 bankruptcy petition in the hopes of managing its debts.
Millions in assets and liabilities
According to RK Consultants, on 4 November Franklin Lagers and Ales filed the Full Pint Beer business in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania listing US$500,000 to US$1 million in assets and liabilities.
The brewery features 13 beers on tap in its taproom and sells its beers at 50 bars and restaurants and via 115 retailers and distributors across the US.

Despite rumblings of a craft beer apocalypse hitting the sector, the Brewers Association’s Midyear Market Report revealed that 50% of breweries producing fewer than 1,000 barrels annually now expected growth in production throughout the rest of 2025, while 43% still predicted a decline.
The association noted that although small taprooms and brewpubs only make up 15% of the overall volume in the craft beer sector, they still represent 73% of craft businesses.
The US craft beer sector still faces challenges
The report showed that craft beer volume had declined about 5% by mid-year 2025 compared to 2024. This meant that craft brewery closings were still outpacing openings, with the number of operating breweries declining by 1% to 9,269 in June 2025, compared to 9,352 in June 2024.
Other beer companies filing for bankruptcy recently but continuing to operate include: California-based Three Weavers Brewing Company on 24 July; Tennessee’s Memphis Made Brewing Company on 7 August; Iowa’s The Grange Public House & Brewery on 22 September; New Mexico’s Bosque Brewing Company on 6 October and California’s Flagship Taproom owner Loaded Barrel which filed on 28 October.
