Coterie Group acquires Hong Kong wine merchant

Coterie Group, headquartered in London, is strengthening its presence in Asia with the acquisition of Hong Kong wine merchant Links Concept.

The group, which owns UK merchants Lay & Wheeler and Hallgarten & Novum Wines, has made its first foray into Hong Kong with the new acquisition, announced today.

Led by CEO Michael Saunders, Coterie also operates bonded storage facilities through Coterie Vaults, wine lending services via Jera Wine, and supplies the superyacht sector via Global Wine Solutions (GWS).

Saunders said Links Concept’s “deep knowledge of the Hong Kong and China markets makes them an ideal partner”, noting that the acquisition “strengthens our international footprint and allows us to offer even greater opportunities for the family-owned wineries we represent.”

Links Concept Family Wine Merchants will continue to operate under its established name and management team following the acquisition.

The company, founded in 2000, represents brands including Champagne Louis Roederer, Familia Torres, Shaw+Smith, Alvaro Palacios, Torbreck, Antinori and Louis Latour across Hong Kong, Macau, and Mainland China.
