Champagne Tsarine to launch first zero dosage cuvée to mark 30th year

Champagne Tsarine is preparing to launch its first zero dosage cuvée – Champagne Tsarine, Zero Dosage Rosé, cuvée 30 ans – to mark its 30th anniversary next year.

Champagne Tsarine, Zero Dosage Rosé, cuvée 30 ans.

This limited-edition release will comprise of just 2,000 bottles, made from a blend of 50% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir and 15% Meunier. The grapes come almost exclusively from premier cru vineyards including Ludes, Sermiers, and Trépail. A further 250 magnums and 500 Jeroboams (the first three-litre bottles in Champagne Tsarine’s rosé history) will also be made available.

After four years of ageing on the lees, the wine has found its natural balance between tension, fruit and texture. “Zero dosage became an obvious choice,” according to Isabelle Tellier, cheffe de cave at Champagne Tsarine since 2001, and one of the very first women to hold this position in Champagne.

“Chardonnay is the backbone of this blend and brings a very mineral style,” says Enguerrand Baijot, President of Maison Chanoine, which includes Champagne Tsarine. “The absence of dosage allows the wine to express itself in its purest form without any filter.”

This anniversary cuvée combines purity with aromatic richness enhanced by a modern label and innovative gift box created to protect the wine from the risk of light strike dulling the aromas, while also being reusable in order to reinforce Champagne Tsarine’s commitment toward sustainability.

Champagne Tsarine was founded by Philippe Baijot in 1996, following his purchase of the Champagne Chanoine Frères label in 1991. Both are part of Maison Chanoine, which is more widely part of the BCC Champagne group and also includes Boizel and Lanson Champagne. Enguerrand Baijot, son of Philippe, joined the family business in 2005, working in various parts of the business, ultimately taking on the role of President of Maison Chanoine in January 2023.

New directions

Since taking over, Enguerrand Baijot has accelerated Champagne Tsarine’s sustainability agenda, eliminating secondary packaging and non-essential POS materials across its range. “I take inspiration from a quote by [French writer] Antoine de Saint-Exupery – ‘We do not inherit the earth from our parents, we borrow it from our children’,” he says. “Being a young father it resonates with me even more nowadays. I feel like I have a mission to pass the House I have the privilege to lead to the next generation in a better place than when I took it over from my father. Innovation and sustainability can blend perfectly together. This is the direction that Champagne Tsarine has been heading towards since 2023.”

Esther Abrami is connecting the worlds of fine Champagne and music.

Consequently, climate change is of course a key concern for Enguerrand Baijot, but navigating shifting consumer demands is also a priority. “Being a brand and relying on your name is not enough any more to gain interest from consumers, especially the new generation,” he says. “You need to engage them by offering unique experiences with your brand and that’s what we are aiming to do at Champagne Tsarine.”

Part of that mission includes further strengthening the brand’s association with music and events. A wider PR campaign to celebrate Champagne Tsarine’s three decades milestone will see the House take part in several musical collaborations and festival events, in partnership with its brand ambassador, violinist Esther Abrami. “Champagne Tsarine has a unique and universal style that appeals equally to newcomers and connoisseurs and in that sense relates very much to music, which is an universal art that speaks across all generations,” adds Enguerrand Baijot.

Looking ahead, Enguerrand Baijot is clear on his ambition to expand beyond the French market and establish itself among top international brands. His aim is to balance sales 50/50 between domestic and export markets by 2030. “In the next 30 years we would like to be recognised as a timeless and audacious Champagne brand full of energy, a no-brainer choice for everyone who wishes to celebrate life with intensity while always offering a balance between quality and price, which is an integral part of our DNA.”

Champagne Tsarine, Zero Dosage Rosé, cuvée 30 ans will be released in Q2 2026 with an SRP of 75 Euros. It will be available only in independent stores and the HORECA (hotel/restaurant/catering) market.
