Brisbane Airport has opened its much-anticipated new brewery, distillery and beer garden at Skygate precinct.

The venue, which is part of the new Landers Pocket entertainment hub at the Skygate precinct, was originally set to kick off a partnership with Green Beacon Brewing Company. The airport has since revealed that its site features 4 Pines Brewing, from  New South Wales, as its brewery of choice.

The 800-capacity location has 32 taps and also houses Never Never gin distillery, a beer garden, a gastropub and event spaces. Additionally, visitors can enjoy beers from 4 Pines Brewing Co on draught across its core range, plus two rotating taps of Brisbane limited-release beers that will have been brewed on site.

Not your average pub

Speaking about the opening, Pines Brewing Co general manager Todd Atkinson said: “4 Pines Brewing Landers Pocket isn’t your average pub – it’s part of a one-of-a-kind entertainment quarter with the freshest beer brewed on site, great food, good vibes and something for everyone.”

The brewpub is accessible via a free shuttle bus service that runs from both the airport’s domestic and international terminals. Additionally, Landers Pocket golfers can also enjoy the location’s expanded driving range just outside the brewery as well.

The features still yet to come to the brewpub include padel courts, a Kick-n-Catch play zone, a 3,000-capacity amphitheatre and a 1,000-person lawn which can be hired out for events and festivals.

Entertainment destination

Speaking about the opening, Landers Pocket managing director James Cooper explained: “Our vision for Landers Pocket is to create a truly unique entertainment destination – a place that celebrates award-winning beer and gin, new-wave golf and elevated dining. This is just the beginning.”

Brisbane Airport executive general manager Scott Norris added: “This vibrant new hub is for everyone, whether you’re touching down, taking off or simply dropping in for an afternoon of sunshine and craft pours in the beer garden.”
