America’s most remote tasting room revealed
Buffalo Trace Distillery has unveiled Perfectly Untamed — an ultra-exclusive bourbon tasting deep in Wyoming’s bison country, created in partnership with the Buffalo Field Campaign to celebrate craftsmanship, conservation and the wild spirit of the American frontier.

Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon is expanding its collaboration with the Buffalo Field Campaign (BFC) with the launch of Perfectly Untamed — a private tasting experience that takes guests into the heart of Wyoming’s open plains.
The initiative builds on a shared commitment to preservation and respect for the natural world. The Buffalo Field Campaign is a non-profit dedicated to protecting the last wild bison herds and their habitat in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.
Set against sweeping views of roaming buffalo, the custom-built glass-walled tasting room offers what Buffalo Trace describes as the most remote and exclusive tasting experience in America. Guests are invited to “slow down and savour the journey”, connecting with the landscape and the legacy of the distillery’s bourbon.
“Our distillery was founded where the buffalo crossed the Kentucky River, and our flagship bourbon pays tribute to the paths they carved around the US frontier,” said Andrew Duncan, Global Brand Director at Buffalo Trace Distillery. “With Perfectly Untamed, we set out to build more than a tasting room – we wanted to build a place where time could stand still. Deep in the perfectly untamed Wyoming wilderness, guests will sip as buffalo roam free, a reminder that there is still room for power, determination, and a little reflection.”
A partnership rooted in preservation
From 13 November, bourbon fans aged 21 and over can pre-register at untamed.buffalotracedistillery.com for a chance to take part in the experience, which will debut in spring 2026.

Each confirmed reservation requires a US$500 donation to the Buffalo Field Campaign, supporting its ongoing work to protect wild bison and their habitat.
“We’re proud to continue our collaboration with Buffalo Trace in a way that highlights not just the beauty of wild bison country, but the importance of public awareness and preservation of the habitat,” said Justine Sanchez, President of the Board of Directors at the Buffalo Field Campaign. “This partnership reflects a shared commitment to protecting America’s last wild buffalo.”
Once-in-a-lifetime access
The Perfectly Untamed experience is limited to six total reservations, each for two guests. Participants will enjoy a private, two-hour guided Buffalo Trace tasting led by Bourbon Hall of Fame inductee Freddie Johnson, complete with curated cocktails and storytelling.
Held over two days, the sessions are designed to move at an unhurried pace — mirroring the patience behind every barrel of Buffalo Trace bourbon. Guests will also receive a US$1,000 travel stipend and curated lodging recommendations to help plan their journey.
Final dates will be confirmed in early winter 2026.
