Celebrity chefs back this alcohol-free fizz
With 74% of UK adults actively moderating their alcohol consumption, restaurants are offering more refined alcohol-free options. Wild Idol, the naturally alcohol-free sparkling alternative to wine, is fast becoming a favourite with the nation’s top chefs.

Now featured at establishments including The Dorian, HIDE, Spring, Dovetale at 1 Hotel Mayfair, The Newt in Somerset and the three-Michelin-star Waterside Inn in Bray, Wild Idol’s growing popularity comes hand in hand with the increased demand for premium alcohol-free drinks that embody elegance and quality.
Wild Idol has been recognised by some of the UK’s most celebrated chefs for its gastronomic versatility and ability to complement varied cuisines. As Jason Atherton notes, “Wild Idol is fruity, naturally aromatic in taste and has a really elegant yet contemporary look, which is perfect for my restaurants.” Atherton owns 16 restaurants around the world, including Sael, Row on 5 and Three Darlings in London. He also has restaurants in Dubai and top ski destination St Moritz.
Similarly, Johnny Smith, co-founder of Michelin star Italian restaurant, LUCA comments, “When dining at a Michelin-starred restaurant, I expect the drinks to match the quality of the food, and Wild Idol delivers on that expectation perfectly.” This year Smith launched a new hospitality group Smith & Willis with Daniel Willis, with whom Smith previously founded The Clove Club.

Texture and balance
Unlike de-alcoholised products, Wild Idol has never contained alcohol. Crafted using traditional winemaking techniques and high quality grapes, its Sparkling Rosé and Sparkling White expressions offer aroma, texture and balance, and are specifically designed to accompany the finest dishes.
“We’re delighted to see more of the UK’s leading restaurants incorporating Wild Idol into their drinks programmes,” says Paul Beavis, CEO, Wild Idol. “Today’s diners expect alcohol-free options that complement outstanding food, and Wild Idol has been created to deliver a truly gastronomic experience. From its vibrant aromatics to its refined structure, it’s the perfect partner for luxury dining.”
In 2025 the brand experienced a “summer of growth” with its value sales leaping by 113% compared with the same period in 2024. According to Beavis, Wild Idol has been able to achieve this growth through “exciting activations and presence at key calendar moments”. These include the drink being served at Coworth Park, The Wimbledon Championships, Royal Ascot and Henley Royal Regatta, as well as being offered at Daylesford Organic farm shops in London and the Cotswolds, and The PIG hotel group’s Summer Cook Outs.
