Jack Daniel’s bets on berry as Tennessee Blackberry lands in UK

Jack Daniel’s is bringing its Tennessee Blackberry to UK shelves after high demand in the US, extending its flavoured whiskey portfolio in time for the festive season.

Jack Daniel’s has introduced its Tennessee Blackberry expression to the UK, following a successful debut in the US earlier this year.

New flavour joins core line-up

The new release blends the distillery’s Old No. 7 Tennessee Whiskey with blackberry flavouring. Offered at 70 proof (35% abv), it is available this week in Tesco stores nationwide in 750ml bottles at an RRP of £26.50.

Tennessee Blackberry joins the brand’s flavoured whiskey range, which includes Tennessee Honey, Tennessee Fire and Tennessee Apple. It is designed to be enjoyed neat, over ice and lemonade, or mixed into cocktails.

“Approachable spirit”

Chris Fletcher, Master Distiller at Jack Daniel Distillery, said:
“The smooth, well-rounded finish of our Tennessee Whiskey makes it one of the most versatile expressions to pair with unexpected flavour. By adding the ripe notes of blackberries, we’ve created an approachable spirit that’s full of character, easy to enjoy with friends and perfect for any season.”

The whiskey is made from the classic Jack Daniel’s mash bill of 80% corn, 12% malted barley and 8% rye. It is mellowed through 10 feet of sugar maple charcoal and matured in new, charred American oak barrels before being infused with blackberry flavour.

US success drives UK rollout

The move into the UK market follows strong demand after the flavour launched in America at the end of summer. Jack Daniel’s described the release as “bursting with sweet and tangy blackberry notes that complement the bold character” of its Tennessee Whiskey.

Founded in 1866, the Jack Daniel Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee, is the oldest registered distillery in the United States and today sells its products in more than 170 countries worldwide.
