Global Wine Masters team launches consumer masterclass series

The Global Wine Masters team is launching a new consumer masterclass series called ‘What to Drink…’, starting with an event in London next month on Champagne.

The sessions are designed to give attendees a brief guide to the category, some tips on tasting, while showcasing the best bottles on the market right now, which have been chosen by the organisers of the Global Wine Masters – the competition series that sees samples assessed according to style and price in a series of standalone ‘blind’ tastings throughout the year.

Speaking about the launch of the new consumer masterclasses, chair of The Global Wine Masters and Master of Wine Patrick Schmitt commented, “We spend so much time selecting the finest bottles according to style and price – and in the process amass so much information about the nature of wines on the market right now – it seems natural to want to share that knowledge not just with trade professionals, but wine-loving consumers too.”

The masterclass series will start with an event on Champagne on Tuesday, 25 November, at Dave’s Wine Bar, located within Howden Insurance Broker’s London HQ. The inaugural ‘What to drink’ event will be hosted by Patrick Schmitt MW.

Whatever the type of drink, the aim of the event is to give attendees a unique opportunity to taste top-quality bottles at a range of prices, with expert guidance on buying and tasting like a pro.

For those brands that feature in the events, the series provides the chance to promote your wares to a discerning audience of influential consumers, selected for their keen interest in discovering new and award-winning wines.
